
MUMBAI, SEPT 9: British aerospace and engineering major Rolls-Royce Plc today announced the formation of its wholly-owned and first indigenous subsidiary in India, Rolls Royce Energy Systems India Pvt Ltd RRESIPL.
Rolls-Royce is also in talks with a number of Indian companies for forming a manufacturing joint venture in the country. RRESIPL would be a trading company, which would market various products 8211; mainly diesel engines 8211; and services of the parent company in the country.
The company has an authorised capital of 150,000 pounds and company had already invested about 400,000 pounds in the last one year. It would also provide the spare parts for its systems and undertake a wide range of activities including the design, development, commissioning and servicing of systems using Rolls-Royce diesel engines and industrial gas turbines.quot;Until now, we have been meeting the needs of our customers in India through a liaison office. However, with the expanding markets, we have decided to expand ouroperations by having a local presence,quot; MD of the new company C R Williams said.
