AMBALA, May 25: A dispute between the residents of Siban Majra village in Barara and parents of Simple Kaur, who died of burns with her two children, led to a road blockade that lasted over two hours on the Barara road last evening.
The bodies of the three victims which were taken to Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment, for post-mortem on May 22 evening were kept there for two days as no one, neither Simple8217;s in-laws nor her parents, came to receive them. However, when the police took the bodies to Siban Majra village for cremation, the parents of Simple came on the scene and sought to take the bodies to their village near Sadhura.
This was objected to by the residents of Siban Majra who said the three be cremated in their village. As the argument ensued, the truck carrying the bodies remained parked on the road thereby blocking the traffic. It was only on the intervention of police officers that the parents of the victim were allowed to take the bodies to their village at about 9.30 p.m.
Simple, a young housewife, along with her son 4 and daughter 6 was found dead at her residence on May 22. The village sarpanch had suspected the case to be that of a suicide, while Simple8217;s parents had alleged it to be a murder. Simple8217;s husband runs a dhaba near Panipat.
