
The issue of attacks on North Indians in Mumbai was raised in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday with RJD members storming the well demanding security for them.
The matter, which was listed in the Rajya Sabha in the form of a short duration discussion could not be taken up as pandemonium prevailed over farmers8217; plight.
In the Lok Sabha, RJD members Vijay Krishna, Sadhu Yadav and Ramkripal Yadav demanded safety for North Indians in Maharashtra in the wake of the agitation by the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.
In the Upper House, as many as 27 members from various parties gave their names to participate in the discussion on the issue.
Though Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan called Sitaram Yechury CPI-M to initiate the discussion, uproar over the farmers8217; issue dominated the proceedings and the debate could not start.
