Rigging in Kansal panchayat polls

CHANDIGARH, June 21: The residents of Kansal village have alleged rigging in the panchayat elections held here today, the results of which were declared at 9 p.m. According to reports reaching CN office late tonight, the trouble began as the defeated candidate with his supporters complained of rigging which the rival group refuted.

As per police sources, the police party from Mohali had been sent on the spot and the situation has been brought under control.
