
KHARAR, March 3: The restaurant of a three-star hotel coming up at Anandpur Sahib started functioning on Monday.
Disclosing this here today, the Managing Director of the Punjab Tourism Development Corporation, Vini Mahajan said that the main building of the hotel which is a joint venture between Indian Tourism Development Corporation and PTDC is still under construction. The restaurant and kitchen were taken up on priority basis in view of the annual Hola Mohalla celebrations which also started from Monday. Besides providing all furniture and fixtures, the requisite staff had been deputed by the ITDC so that the restaurant could become operational as per schedule.
The hotel which is the first joint venture between ITDC and PTDC will be built on a 5-acre land at a cost of Rs 6.5 crore. The hotel, when complete will have 50 rooms. The then union minister for tourism, Madan Lal Khurana had laid its foundation s on August 19.
