RAJAPALAYAM, May 9: The nine rare gold coins that were discovered by the Historical Exploration Centre, here, last month belong to the Roman era. These coins have the portrait of Roman kings on one side, with their names engraved on the fringes. Pottery pieces collected from the site include polished redware and conical jars of corase redware.
