Rahul T20 live on DD, Cong bats it146;s unlike 145;capitalist146; IPL

Dubbing the recent IPL cricket tournament as 8220;capitalist8221;, the Congress sought to defend the live telecast of Rajiv Gandhi Rural Cricket tournament final in Amethi by DD Sports on Monday saying a national broadcaster was 8220;obliged8221; to show it.

The final match of the Twenty-20 rural cricket tournament in Amethi was watched by members of the Nehru-Gandhi family, including Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra and Robert Vadra. Asked if DD Sports telecast it live because of the involvement of the Nehru-Gandhi family, AICC spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said he felt 8220;sorry8221; that the question came when it related to rural areas, whereas there was no question being asked when private TV channels showed IPL matches the entire day.

8220;Private channels show sports which involve lakhs and crores and are played by capitalist IPL, but they are not interested in any rural sports,8221; Singhvi told reporters here.
