Rabri orders probe into Purnea killing

Patna, Dec 15: Bhar Chief Minister Rabri Devi today ordered a ministerial inquiry by Minister for Land Reforms and Revenue Rravindra Charan Yadav into the incidents of arson, mayhem and violence that claimed lives of four women and 2 children in Purnea district on Sunday.

Taking a serious note of the outbreak of violence, the Chief Minister said the state government should take punitive action against oficials found to be responsible for preventing the occurrence.

Rabri said she would personally visit the incident site to make an on-the-spot appraisal of the situation.

The Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs one lakh to bereaved families of each of the deceased. She said the state government had directed the officials of the Purnea district to construct pucca houses for the families of each of the deceased.
