Renowned swimmer Mihir Sen, the first Indian to cross the English Channel, died tonight at Anandalok hospital here. Sen, 66, died of acute myocardial infraction, bronchoneumonia complicated with septocaemia.

He is survived by his wife Bela and daughters.

NEW DELHI: A Pakistani major was killed and a ranger hurt in an exchange of fire between border guards in Samba sector of the Indo-Pak border on Tuesday. One Indian subedar was seriously injured in the exchange of fire, as per information received.
