
November 11 : KOPARGAON: THE Maharashtra government has decided to draft a master plan for the State8217;s cooperative sugar factories to boost sugar and sugarcane production using modern technology. Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, the State minister for agriculture, Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, said the cooperative movement in this field had yielded good results. He said the price of sugar in local markets had come down due to the open sugar export policy of the Central Government and urged it to reconsider the policy.

JAMMU: THE Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday prohibited its workers from employing children below 14 years of age as domestic servants. This was decided at a meeting of the cabinet held here under the chairmanship of the State Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah.
