Azhar captain for World Cup

MUMBAI: The national cricket selectors on Monday retained Mohammed Azharuddin as India8217;s skipper till the end of the May 14-June 20 World Cup in England. 8220;Azharuddin will lead India till the conclusion of the World Cup and will be the captain for the triangular series March 19-April 4 at home and in the Sharjah tournament April 7-16 too,8221; Indian cricket board secretary Jaywant Lele announced.

Tohra resigns

CHANDIGARH: Gurcharan Singh Tohra resigned as president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee SGPC on Monday night. Tohra told PTI on the telephone from Patiala that he had faxed his resignation to the SGPC secretariat at Amritsar
