Hooch claims eight lives

PATNA/SALEM: Eight people died and two were taken ill after consuming illicit liquor in two case reported from Bihar8217;s capital Patna and Salem Tamil Nadu today. While six died in Patna, two deaths were reported from Salem. Police said the two consumed illicit brandy in a crematorium and died on the spot. The bottles had fake Indian made foreign liquor markings.

Mishra sues Joginder

NEW DELHI: Former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra has filed a suit against former CBI Director Joginder Singh, demanding Rs one crore for allegedly making defamatory remarks in his book Inside CBI. Mishra said Singh tried to establish a nexus between him, Laloo Yadav and ex-director of AHD Dr Ram Raj Ram by 8220;distorting the facts8221; in the fodder scam.
