Embassy blasts toll at least 198
CAIRO:
Israeli rescue workers aided by people of Indian origin raced against time on Sunday to pull out survivors from under the debris of Friday8217;s Nairobi bomb blast as the death toll climbed to more than 198. Kenyan president Daniel Arap Moi assured the police was pursuing several clues. 4,000 injured have been salvaged so far in Friday8217;s twin blasts in Nairobi and Dar-es-Salaam.

Swami critical
CALCUTTA:
The condition of Swami Bhuteshanandaji Maharaj, president of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna mission, continued to be critical for the third day on Sunday despite all supportive measures. Swami Bhuteshanandaji was admitted to the intensive therapy unit of the Kothari Medical Centre here on Friday following deterioration in his condition and his was being constantly monitored.

Trains delayed
MUMBAI:
Long distance trains on the Central line were disrupted for more than two hours due to an engine failure of the Deccan Queen near Kanjur Marg atabout 6 pm, Railway control informed. Outstation trains were lined up one behind the other. At about 8 pm normalcy was restored, commuters said.In another incident, at around 7 pm, a divider fence between the first down and second up track fell on the first rail track at Byculla station. All down slow trains were diverted through the third track.

Delhi medium-pacer Robin Singh Jr was the surprise inclusion in the list of 22 players picked by the national cricket selectors on Sunday for the first World Cup preparatory camp at Chennai from August 21-September 4.
