2 Doda carnage militants shot dead by Army
DODA:
Troops today shot dead two of the militants responsible for Tuesday’s massacre of 16 people in Doda district. Two militants, who shot dead eight people at Shanna-Thakraie village, were gunned down by the army in an encounter at Lohi-Dhar, five kms from the site of the massacre, an official spokesman said. He said the encounter took place when the army intercepted the militants who were heading towards Sarawan village where eight men were also shot dead on Tuesday.

The remaining militants had been identified and security forces were in hot pursuit of them, the spokesman said.

Bodos kill 11
GUWAHATI:
Suspected Bodo militants killed eleven persons and injured 29 others by exploding a powerful bomb by remote control at a marketplace in Nalbari district of Assam on Wednesday. Official sources said the militants, suspected to be of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) planted the bomb at a cattle centre in the weekly Dhamdhamamarket. In the explosion 8 persons died on the spot.

Tax sops in new housing policy

The national housing policy has offered a host of fiscal concessions to give boost to house building activity. The concessions include tax holiday for investment in the housing sector, special concession under the Income Tax Act, exemption from assessment under the Wealth Tax Act, relief from capital gains and reduction of stamp duty.
