Inquiry into Jamnagar firing
GANDHINAGAR: The Gujarat government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the Jamnagar incident in which three farmers were killed and several others injured in police firing on Tuesday morning and announced an ex gratia of Rs two lakh each to the next of kin of those killed and Rs ten thousand to each of the injured.

SRINAGAR: Indian troops and Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir police killed four militants in the valley during overnight operations. Official sources said that immediately a after series of attacks on security force parties in Srinagar, police launched a massive hunt.The police have also arrested about 40 suspects in connection with Monday’s series of snap militant attacks in Srinagar.

NEW DELHI: The government today allotted Rs 205.25 crores to six states including Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal towards calamity relief. The funds have been allotted from the national fund forcalamity relief (NFCR) on the recommendations of the inter-ministerial group headed by Agriculture Minister Nitish Kumar.
