All India Marathi Publishers Sangh has decided to compile a directory of Marathi books which are worth translating into other Indian languages. The Sangh has appealed to readers to send the relevant information of such books including name of the book, details of author and publishers to Prachi Chikate, directory editor, Gokul Magazine Prakashan, 1194, Sadashiv Peth, Pune-30.

Diabetes meet
Diabetes unit of K.E.M. Hospital will organise a meet on diabetes on January 24 on the occasion of the unit8217;s fifth anniversary. The meet, in association with Magnus-Novo Nordisk, will be held at Hotel President. Speakers will include Dr Hockaday, Dre. Andrew Hattersley, Dr John Yudkin, all from U.K., and Dr Gaffaoorunnisa from Hyderabad.

Children8217;s meet
World Vision India8217;s Area Development Programme organised a get-together for children from slum areas at Yerawada on Wednesday. Over 1,000 children from different parts of the city participated in the get-together.

Counselling
Ayurved Research and Development Centre will arrange counselling for AIDS patients every Thursday at 4 p.m. at the centre in Rambaug Colony, Paud Road. Patients will be appraised of ayurvedic research and therapy for AIDS-related problems.
