Health camp
St. Mary8217;s Society, a charitable organisation of the Jacobite Syrian orthodox church, will organise a free medical check up camp on January 17. The camp will have general health check-up, free eye testing, psychiatry, dental and pulse polio administration.

District collector Vijaykumar Gautam will inaugurate the camp and Vittal Tupe, MP, will be the chief guest.

Pillay feted
Dhanraj Pillay, captain of hockey team, was felicitated by the South Indian Association at SVS High School, Khadki. Pillay is an ex-student of the school. S.A. Kanakraj, principal , Symbiosis Law College and president of Pune City Zonal Sports Committee, presented a trophy and a shawl to Pillay.

Acupressure
A free camp for acupressure and magnetotherapy by a team of doctors from Jai Bhagwan Acupressure Ashram, Gujarat, will be organised by Bulchand Charitable Trust Free Clinic, at Bulchand Charitable Trust Free Clinic, 2/5 Sadhu Vaswani Kunj, behind Nehru memorial hall, from January 15 to 22, from 9 a.m.to 6 p.m.

Blood donation
The National Cadet Corps NCC and Armed Forces Medical College organised a blood donation camp at the S. P. College on Wednesday. Group Commander Col. C.V. Mohan inaugurated the camp in which around 100 cadets donated blood.

NDA results
The result of the written part of the National Defence Academy examination held by the Union Public Service Commission in September 1998 have been announced. The copy of the result is available at the Press Information Bureau, Chiplunkar Bhavan, Shastri Road, Navi Peth.

Pulse polio
Directorate of Field Publicity will organise a rally of college students to create awareness about Pulse polio immunisation. The second dose of polio dose will be given on January 17. The rally will be flagged off by Pune8217;s additional municipal commissioner Deepak Kapoor at Shaniwar Wada on January 16 at 10 a.m.

Parents8217; meet
A meet of parents of mentally retarded will be held on January 17 at 3.30 p.m. at Garware Bal Bhavan. Dr. W.N. Tungare and Bhal Korgaonkar will give information of the Bill prepared by the government on the rehabilitation of special children.
