
Residential retreat
A four-day residential retreat amidst natural surroundings to experience oneself a series of dynamic and passive meditations will be organised at Dievekar8217;s farm at Sajjan, near Jawhar in Thane district from December 24 to 27. The retreat will help participants to see connectedness with nature, to heal and release inner child, to realise innocence and wonderment in all walks of life, based on Upanishadas, truth and Chakshumati Vidya.

Vipassana course
Pune Vipassana Samiti will organise a residential 10-day Vipassana medication course from January 15 to 26 at its centre near Markal village, eight km from Alandi. No fees are charged for the course including food and lodging. All expenses are borne by those who have benefitted from Vipassana and wish others to gain the same benefit.
Elocution contest
Kanchan Dhotre of Mahatma Phule College from Pimpri has stood first in the state-level elocution competition on Dowry- an evil system8217;, organised by Marathwada Mitra Mandal Commerce College on December 6. Pune police commissioner K. K. Kashyap, Mamasaheb Kulkarni, president of the Anti-Dowry Movement, and Madhav Gokhale, president of Pune Union of Working Journalists, were the guests at the function. Pune University8217;s pro vice-chancellor Dr N. J. Sonawane presided over the function.
