PCMC residents seek water
Residents from Mahatma Phulenagar in ward 12 and sector 18 of Pradhikaran on Thursday took out a morcha at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation PCMC to demand adequate water supply in their area.
The morcha prompted Mayor Hanumanth Bhosale to immediately visit the area in the evening along with a delegation of the residents. Bhosale assured the residents that the problem of water supply would be solved within the next eight days.
Former Shiv Sena unit chief Baba Dhumal who led the morcha said that nearly 1,000 families residing in the area had been facing acute shortage of water since the last three years. A memorandum was submitted to the mayor.
The residents urged the municipal corporation to take immediate steps to remove all encroachments and hawkers from Chikhli Road. The residents said the numerous encroachments and hawkers on both sides occupied nearly half the roadwidth leading to frequent mishaps.
During his visit to the area Bhosale was accompanied by Additional City Engineer P B Tasgaonkar, and local corporators Baby Kute, Vishwas Gajarmal.
