Course on govt budget
The Indian School of Political Economy will hold a short course on Government Budget: Basic Concepts8217; on June 19 and June 20.

The objective is to explain various concepts and theoretical foundations of the government budget. The course is designed for concerned citizens, social and political activists without any background in economics. The course will consist of two sessions on both sessions on both evenings between 6 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. The medium of lectures will be simple English while the answers to queries will be dealt in both English and Marathi.

The course will be conducted by Prof A S Nadkarni, honorary fellow of the School and former professor of Economics, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics.

Kirad to be felicitated
Social worker Hiralal Kirad will be felicitated for completing 75 years on June 16. Speaking to mediapersons here, Hiralal Kirad Amrumahotsav Samiti chairman Shashikant Sutar said some of Kirad8217;s friends had formed a committee to recognise the social work by Hiralal Kirad.

Through Kasturbai Kirad Trust, which he had set up in the memory of his wife about 16 years ago, Hirala Kirad has undertaken several social activities like rehabilitation of the handicapped and health camps. Kirad also has been instrumental in setting up of a cooperative industrial estate near Kondhwa.
