Exhibition on old buildings
An exhibition of photographs and information on old buildings in the city which are worth preserving will be inaugurated by Dr. P S Palande, president of the Heritage Preservation Committee, at Balgandharva auditorium at 10 a.m. on May 22. Pune Mayor Vatsala Andekar will preside over the function. Pune Municipal Commissioner Rajiv Agrawal will be present on the occasion.

Agitation suspended
Maharashtra Rajya Christian Sanghatana has called off its proposed agitation against the Young Men Christian Association (YMCA), following a meeting between the representatives of the Sanghatana and the YMCA. The Sanghatana had threatened demonstrations to demand the facility of the YMCA hall at a concessional rate. The YMCA has conceded to the demands, a statement issued here said.

Synagogue anniversary
The local Bene-Israel community celebrated the 77th anniversary of the Succath Shelmo Synagogue, located at the Jewish Lane in Rasta Peth, on May 17. Many Jewish families from Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts as well as from Israel attended the celebration. Social worker Jonathan Solomon from Mumbai was the chief guest. George Judah, president of the Synagogue, welcomed the guests. Shallom Hannock, secretary, proposed a vote of thanks.

Trekking expedition
Kailash Manasarovar Yatri Mandal, Mumbai, in collaboration with the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam Nainital, will organise a trekking-cum-pilgrimage expedition to Adi-Kailash and Parvati Sarovar. Adi Kailash and Parvati Sarovar, an ancient holy place in the Himalayas, are now open to Indian nationals for trekking and expedition between July and September. Workshop on diabetes
Novonordisk-Magnus will organise a workshop on the theme of `What is diabetes’ at Tilak Smarak Mandir from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on May 24. Expert doctors will be present at the venue to interact with the public.

Theatre camp
A week-long free theatre training camp for children, conducted by Pune City Congress Seva Dal, was inaugurated by cine actor Raghawendra Kadgol at Congress Bhavan on Tuesday. Chandrashekhar Kapote, president of the city Congress Seva Dal, presided over the function. Vijay Gaikwad and Ravindra Mhaskar were among the other speakers.

NMV gathering

Exim programme
