Chandigarh, March 14: The local units of three students8217; bodies 8212; Haryana Students Association HSA, National Students8217; Union of India NSUI and the Panjab University Students8217; Union PUSU 8212; today demanded that the Dean Students8217; Welfare DSW should resign and appealed to the syndicate not to extend his term.

At a joint press conference held at the PU this afternoon, over a dozen office-bearers of the three organisations alleged that the Dean Students8217; Welfare, Prof R. S. Grewal, was quot;biased, authoritarian, insensitive and ineffective as the Dean.quot;

Prominent among those who addressed the press conference were NSUI president Harmonider Singh Lucky, campus NSUI president Ajay Pal Singh, HSA chairman Chand Singh Madaan, president Bhupinder Singh, PUSU general secretary Mohan Pal and former PUCSC president Munish Anand.

Meanwhile, the chain hunger strike by the members of HSA and NSUI against the proposed fee hike, entered the third day today. Gurnam Singh and Sukhvir Singh will sit on the strike today. The members of the students8217; bodies also held a candle light march tonight.
