
PUNE, Sept 21: Priyadarshini Sports Centre B8217; got the better of Goodwill Sports Club 4-2, to enter the semi-final of the III Late Sacchin Gandham Trophy at the PCMC Poligras Stadium, today.
However, Goodwill were the first to take the lead in the 4th minute through centre-forward Rocky Anthony. Left-inner Vineet Nimal brought the game on level-terms in the 10th minute, which ended the first half.
Soon after the lemon time centre-forward Vinod Pillay8217;s perfect deflection made it 2-1 for PSC, after centre-half Prashant Pawar free-hit managed to trickle past the yawning gaps in the defence.
Stung with the reverse Goodwill tended to lose their cool with a resultant right-back Kiran Khairale being sent off to cool his heels. Utalising the advantage, Vineet sounded the boards again to make it 3-1 in the 45th minute.
Shekhar Parmanand made it 2-3 in the 55th for Goodwill, while right-in Jayesh Rajput rounded up the tally for PSC.
Earlier, in the quarter-final, Friends Union rout Poona Social 6-1. In the one-sided tie Friends Union opened their account via left-in Rohit Muppid in the 5th minute. Centre-forward Vishal Megrathi made it 2-0 with a solo effort in the 15th minute and five minutes later Shakti Thakkur sounded the board to make it 3-0.
After the break Sagar Kadam, Vishal Megrathi and Shakti Thakkur added to the Friends Union tally, while Prashant Mogre scored the lone goal for the loosers.
