Processions mark Christmas festivities

CHANDIGARH, Dec 23: A colourful procession was taken out by all the Christian denominations in the city today. The procession started from Sector 38 and culminated in Sector 17.

The vehicles in the procession were decorated with balloons and there were Santa Claus waving and cheering to the crowd. The scene depicting the birth of the Christ was enacted by children in an open van which moved along the procession. Some children were dressed as fairies and waved to the crowd with their magic wands.

The procession reached the plaza of Sector 17 where the Bishop said prayers. Later snacks were served to the accompanying persons.
