Australian all rounder Shane Watson has said selectors should make it clear whether wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has been rested or dropped from the team for the next two one-day internationals.
Haddin was once again left out of Australia8217;s 14-man squad on Tuesday for Friday8217;s clash with Sri Lanka at the SCG and Sunday8217;s match with India in Brisbane. This has fuelled speculation that he8217;s been dropped in favour of Matthew Wade, who is enjoying a good run with the team with some imposing performances.
Watson, who himself is making a comeback from a calf injury said he was unhappy about Haddin was being treated.
I actually feel really sorry for Brad at the moment. He8217;s been left in a bit of limbo unfortunately, The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Watson,as saying. He said 34-year old Haddin deserved better treatment. He doesn8217;t know which way he8217;s going, whether he8217;s being rested or dropped, someone who8217;s played an important role over the last five years in all forms of the game for Australia,I think, definitely deserves to be told either way what his future holds, he said.
8220;If I was in that same situation,I would be pretty disappointed, Watson added. Watson said: It8217;s important for him just to know which direction he8217;s going. There8217;s no doubt that I think he8217;s still got a fair bit of cricket left in him. He8217;s a very talented cricketer 8211; he8217;s still very fit and hungry.
