The manager of the Indian squad for the World T20 championship in England,V Chamundeshwarnath has been relieved of his duties as secretary of the Andhra Cricket Association by the bodys executive committee after allegedly receiving complaints about corruption and favouritism.
Speaking to The Indian Express, the president of the ACA,G Gangaraju said from Visakhapatanam: The 29 members of the executive committee have unanimously decided to exclude Chamundeshwarnath from the association and will be informing the BCCI about this development.
He said the allegations were with regard to the selection of the Andhra womens cricket team and had been probed by a six-member panel.
Other allegations against the former Ranji player and junior selector, who has stayed back in London after the teams early exit, include misappropriation of funds in the buying of chairs for the IPL,installation of floodlights and procurement of cricket kits.
I had got complaints from members about Chamundeshwarnath a few months back. There were allegations that he had changed the by-laws of the constitution without following proper procedure. Besides,I also got complaints that he had included some players who were not deserving in the under-19 and womens team, said Raju.
Raju said that the future course of action will be decided at a Special Annual General Meeting of the association. He will be given a chance to have his say at the meeting. But he will need the support of two-third of the members to stay in the association. Or else he will be out, said Raju.
