Struggling Russian Olympic pole vault champion and world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva said on Saturday she would take an indefinite break from competition. I have been thinking over this very carefully the last three weeks and now come to the conclusion that a break from competing is absolutely necessary for me, the 27-year-old said.

Sunil settles for silver medal

Former Commonwealth champion Sunil Kumar fought hard but had to settle for silver after losing to Olympics champion Zou Shiming in the final of the AIBA 3 Star China Cup in Guiyang City. The 21-year-old Haryana boxer lost the plot in the final three minutes to go down 4-2 to the two-time world champion.

Lahiri moves up to tied 9th

Anirban Lahiri shot a two-under 70 to surge four places ahead and lie tied 9th after the third round of the 300,000 Myanmar Open in Yangon. Lahiris three-day total is eight-under 208. Overnight tied 10th,Gaurav Pratap Singh carded four-over 76 to slip to tied 45.
