McLaren engine utilisation not a worry

McLaren has used seven engines for each of their drivers ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix.

McLaren has used seven engines for each of their drivers ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix but Jenson Button dismissed it stating that there was no cause for concern.

Each driver is allocated eight engines for the season, and any additional unit utilised beyond the assigned ones would incur a ten-place grid penalty.

Championship leader Fernando Alonso is on his sixth engine as are the two Red Bull drivers ahead of the 14th round of the 20-race calendar, but that may not give the title contenders any edge.

Makes no difference at all, Button told F1Pulse.com I mean we all have our plans for the year and we just plan different races for different engines.

Everyone has their plans so the amount of engines you use is never an issue unless you blow an engine up. We havent done that so its all going to plan, the Briton explained.
