New Zealand have increased their pool of pacers before the third and final Test considering the heavy load on the bowlers who played the drawn game at Napier. The two new pacers added to the squad are Kyle Mills, who was dropped after the first Test in Hamilton, and Tim Southee.

Though coach Andy Moles said there were no fitness issues with bowlers who shared the 270-odd overs over the last three to four days, contingency measures were in place.

The bowlers woke up this morning with no injuries. But we will monitor them over the next two or three days and make sure that the energy levels are right. We have brought in a couple of seamers just in case the energy levels are down, he said.

Being bullish about the fitness of his bowlers he said,Bryan the Kiwi trainer has worked with us really well, and the attitude to training over the last three-four months has been excellent. And that has shown,it has given us the benefit over the last three-four days.

The number of overs bowled by Kiwi bowlers in the second Test were as follows: Chris Martin 54,James Franklin 36,Iain OBrien 46,Daniel Vettori 57 and Jeetan Patel 64.
