A recurrence of his year-old ankle injury has forced Jeev Milkha Singh to pull out of the this week’s PGA Tour event, the Frys.com Open.

Jeev, who has confirmed his Tour card for next season, was given a sponsor’s exemption into the Fall Series event. “It is the same injury that bothered me last year around the PGA Championship. I thought I had gotten over it,but that’s apparently not the case,” Jeev said.

The 37-year-old said he did not wear shoes of right specifications at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital for Children Open last week and that could have caused the problem. “By the time I started warming up for Saturday’s third round,I had intense pain.”

Jeev still has a few important weeks left on the European Tour, and he hopes to return in a couple of weeks. “The frustrating part is that I was playing really well right now,” he said.
