A top Indian Olympic official says the suspended Indian Olympic Association is running out of time to clean up its administration before next year8217;s Winter Olympics,Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.

International Olympic Committee member Randhir Singh told The Associated Press on Saturday that any delay would mean 8220;a crucial loss of time8221; as the major sporting events grow closer.

The Indian Olympic Association was suspended in December for conducting elections declared illegal by the International Olympic Committee.

It8217;s been given an Oct. 31 deadline by the IOC to amend its constitution and a Dec. 15 deadline to hold fresh elections if it wants to return to the Olympic fold.
