Suresh Kumar improved his personal best in the 10000m at the Asian Games from 29.33.40 to 28.59.99,shedding 33.41 seconds.

Sandeep Singh set a personal best in the 1500m 3.42.79 in Guanghzhou.

Mayookha Johnny jumped 13.68m in the triple jump in the Senior Athletic Nationals,a national record,till it was broken by Prajusha in the CWG.

Gayathri Govindharaj set a National junior record in the triple jump at 13.58m at the Asian Junior Athletics Championships,just 14 cm off the national mark. She also set the junior 100m hurdles record at 13.59 at the World Junior Championships
