England8217;s best team can beat India every day of the week: Darren Gough

India are only champions on home turf says Darren Gough.

Former Three Lions fast bowler Darren Gough has stirred controversy in cricket circles by saying that India are only champions on home turf,and that he fancies England beating the MS Dhoni-led squad every day of the week sooner than later.

Raising a toast to England8221;s Ashes heroes,Gough said: We8221;re now the best team in the world. This team is the Golden Generation of English cricket. They are the side that are going to dominate world cricket for the next few years.

The Sun further quoted him,as saying: 8220;For me,we8221;re the best team in the world at this moment. I8221;ve watched the South Africa-India series and I see nothing to worry about. India is fantastic in their own country and have some great individuals,but I8221;d fancy this England side to beat them every day of the week.

8220;I don8221;t know whether that is because we8221;re better than everybody else in sight or because we have a top-class spinner and five bowlers who could start a Test,no problem. We now have so many options,especially in attack,and the reason this team are so dominant is because we have 16 players who could have started the first Test match,8221; Gough said.

Gough believes Strauss8221; heroes deserve the same accolades as the 2005 Ashes side,who were awarded MBEs and enjoyed an open-top bus parade through London.

He added: 8220;Will this team get the same reception? Probably not. Do they deserve to? I would say yes.8221;
