Deepika Kumari, who along with team mates Rimil Buriuly and Laishram Bombayla Devi, won back-to-back Archery World Cup gold medals, had a hard time dealing with the media after jetting down from Wroclaw,Poland. It showed clearly,as she cried after a spat with few media persons.

But just as she had recovered from the lows of below-par performance at the 2012 London Olympics, the 18-year-old showed no ill effects of the tiff as she spoke about her ongoing plans.

I have long forgotten that performance. There is no need for me to remember bad performances, she told The Indian Express after reaching Aurangabad, where she would be participating in the fourth National Ranking Tournament.

A top four finish in Aurangabad will ensure her participation for the upcoming World Championship scheduled to be held in Antalya,Turkey from September 29 to October 6.

Deepika credited the gold medal to individual training regimes as the team were unable to train together at the Aurangabad-based venue with coaches too missing from the ranks.

National team coach,Lim Chae Woong, currently employed by the Army Sports Institute, was based in Pune while Dharmendra Tiwary too failed to get his relieving letter from Tata Steel. As a result, the only coach available for the camp that started from July 20 was Jiwanjot Singh who trains the compound team. Therefore, both the mens and womens recurve teams stayed with their employers. Tata archers, including Deepika, trained at the Tata Archery Academy in Jamshedpur while others trained in Kolkata.

It all came together despite the fact we werent together,so we were all relieved, she added.

While the World Cup season is over for the archers, there are still at least three more important tournaments lined up for Deepika. She will be the sole representative from India at the two-day World Cup Finals being held in Paris from September 21-22 before immediately heading to Antalya for the World Championships.

It will get really hectic, but I have to make the team first, Deepika said.
