SA-England match called off
Pretoria: The first of South Africas five one-day internationals against England was abandoned on Friday because of heavy rain without a ball being bowled. The downpour started on Thursday and was still in progress at Wanderers when the match was abandoned at 1500 GMT. The second match is scheduled for Sunday at Centurions Supersport Park in Centurion.
UPCA to pay Rs 50 lakh
Kanpur: The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association will shell out a whopping Rs 50 lakh as rent for organising the second Test between India and Sri Lanka at the state-owned Green Park Stadium from November 24. The UPCA,which does not have its own stadium,said it pleaded with the government to give some concession but their request was turned down.
