New Delhi: Punjab won the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy based on their first innings-lead as Delhis chase faltered on the final day. Delhi had to bat out the entire day to come anywhere close to Punjabs first innings score of 552 with the hope that Rajiv Bose would go on to make a big score. He did complete his century but,like his team mates,failed to power on. From 412 for 6 at one stage,Delhis first innings folded at 418. In their second innings,Punjab put on 153 in 23 overs.

Even though the hosts completed a 3-0 whitewash in the Test series,the limited-overs competition is expected to be much more competitive. With some key reinforcements in the shape of Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi coming in,the Pakistan team will present a new look. Their fast-bowling unit,which includes Mohammed Aamer,could worry the hosts.
