Florida: Sri Lanka beat New Zealand by seven wickets in the second Twenty20 match here. Sri Lanka triumphed in yet another low-scoring affair to earn a 1-1 draw in the series. Nuwan Kulasekara tore through New Zealands top order,taking three wickets in one over. New Zealand were 13/5 at one stage before Vettoris 27 gave them a glimmer of hope,and Nathan McCullums 36 took their total to 81.

BCCI invites team sponsorship

Mumbai: The BCCI has invited bids from companies through a tender notice for sponsoring four Indian squads,including the much sought-after mens outfit. The tender calls for sponsorship of the mens,womens,India A and India under 19 teams. The documents would be available from May 24 for a non-refundable payment of Rs 5 lakh. Sahara had bagged sponsorship for the Indian team for a four-year period ending December 2009 but had agreed to continue for six more months as BCCI could not find any sponsors.

Less teams in CLT20

Mumbai: With English counties giving it a miss,this years Champions League T20 will feature only 10 teams in South Africa,the tournaments governing council has said. The event,scheduled from September 10-26,will feature 23 matches. Teams already qualified are Chennai Super Kings India,Mumbai Indians India,South Australian Redbacks Australia,Warriors South Africa,Highveld Lions South Africa,Central Stags New Zealand,Victorian Bushrangers Australia,Royal Challengers Bangalore India and Wayamba Elevens Sri Lanka.

ICC must convince BCCI: WADA

New Delhi: The ICC understands the importance of World Anti-Doping Agencys whereabout clause and it is their duty to address BCCIs concerns,WADA director-general David Howman has said. Last weekend during the T20 World Cup,I discussed the issue with ICC officials and made them understand the importance of the clause. One needs to understand that its the international federation who ultimately have to look into the concerns of national federations, he added.
