Arsenal had no representation when England lifted its only World Cup Trophy at home in 1966 and set to repeat the feat this time round too,as no Gunner is part of the team under Fabio Capello. Although eleven players are on eight different roster,their sole English hope,Theo Walcott,couldnt make the cut.
With three goals in his last couple of international appearances for Holland,Robin Van Persie appears in great touch after missing the most of last season for Arsenal due to injury. Bacary Sagna and William Gallas if he gets fit in time will surely feature in Frances starting line up. Abou Diaby had a reasonable last season for Arsenal and could get a look in. Gael Clichy though will be competing for a place in the playing eleven against Manchester Uniteds Patrice Evra. Carlos Vela had very little impact as injuries and lack of playing time reduced him to a regular in the Arsenal bench.
The striker who has 8 goals in 26 internationals for Mexico however had a good set of pre-World Cup warm up games including a goal against Italy and looks set to feature up front.
Cesc Fabregas had suffered a leg injury and had missed the end of Arsenals 2009-10 season.
Emanuel Ebou at right back is a permanent fixture along with Kolo Toure for the Ivory Coast defence. Ebou has had a good last season for the Gunners scoring three goals in five matches.
Nicklas Bendtner has had a dream World Cup qualifiers for Denmark,where he scored in every match that he featured. The twenty two year old striker has so far scored 11 goals from 32 caps and was named Denmarks player of the year 2009. Phillipe Senderos for Switzerland and Alex Song who plays as a midfielder for Ghana round up Arsenals contribution to this years World Cup
