By his own admission,Force India was the last team on Adrian Sutils mind when he was attempting to make a comeback. The long delay in naming a second driver and the subsequent rumours that owner Vijay Mallya might sell the team had made Sutil cagey. But a meeting with Force India co-owner Mallya made him change his mind. With the new season set to start on March 17,now it seems like a win-win situation for both the driver and team owner. This is because the German is believed to be bringing in a hefty sponsorship amount.

I know the team is not linked to the problem, its a independent team and has a different structure. Of course,Vijay is involved in it. In he last two weeks there were all sorts of rumours regarding the team and whether Vijay will keep it. No one knew what will happen. But I was sure he would manage the situation again because he likes the sport and he wont give up to early. The team is safe and ready to go, Sutil said.

Rising force

Even as the owners fly through turbulence, the team is a rising force When Mallya took over the team in 2007,it was considered as a back-of-the grid unit. But the changes introduced since 2008 through to 2011,Force Indias year-on-year final constructors standings positions read: 10th,9th,7th and 6th. They finished 7th out of the 11 teams last year, which helped them pocket an estimated $53 million in prize money.

According to a report published in the Telegraph, this gave Force India one of the best value-for-money results in the sport. I think one of the keys is we havent changed the team much. The resource team has remained quite same. That has helped Force India a lot. Team is still growing and we are doing what we can to make the team stronger, the teams British driver Paul di Resta said.

Both,Sutil and Di Resta, are hoping they will do justice to the hype surrounding Force India as the new season kick starts next week in Melbourne. The bulk of development on their car is done and it remains to be seen whether the team can now get onto the next level. Di Resta believes it is. If the team gives the required tools,we can achieve podium finish this time. We need to make sure we regain the performance weve set so far. We need to build slowly and maintain consistency, he said.
