PPS breathes fire at PCB

The PPS has threatened to resort to a token hunger strike, gherao, stage demonstrations and morchas outside the office of the Pune Sub Area Commander next week unless they receive satisfactory answers.

It has demanded a detailed report on the action taken against Gai Kasai Masjid and other cantonment buildings for violating building bylaws.

Questioning the 8220;misuse8221; of land by the Royal Western India Turf Club RWITC, the auction of 40 stalls in the club without prior permission, the commercial use of the residential bungalow at 4 Burnett Road and the fact that Turf Club had not sought a licence from the cantonment board for the last four years, the PPS demanded a clarification on these issues.

The PPS demanded a clarification on the sanction given to a building plan of Bungalow no 1, Tarapore Road at Sardar Dastur High School for over 37,000 sq feet. It has demanded a probe into the alleged harassment of students of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar High School by a certain teacher and the alleged self-immolation attempt by a student before the committee appointed by the cantonment board to look into the issue.
