Former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh is doing a rethink about the timing of the release of his book on Mohammed Ali Jinnah. Hindi, English and Urdu versions of 1947: A Fractured Freedom were scheduled to be simultaneously released in July. A family member, however, confided to his friends in the Congress party recently that the former External Affairs Minister was under pressure within his party to postpone the launch of his book till after the next general elections. The BJP apparently does not want a fresh controversy after all the political heat that Opposition leader L K Advani8217;s remarks about Jinnah generated in 2005.
