PMT defers fare hike

PUNE, MAY 31: The Pune Municipal Transport Committee on Sunday deferred a decision on the proposed hike in bus fares. The PMT had sought to increase the bus fares following the increasing cost of diesel.

However, the committee decided to defer the decision as it did not have sufficient information pertaining to the difference in the income of the PMT following subsequent fare hikes in the last ten years, Prakash Lodha, PMT committee chairman told the media persons on Sunday.
