
Jeev Milkha Singh capped his magical season on the greens when he was named the Players8217; Player of the Year to go with his Order of Merit title on the Asian Tour. The 37-year-old Jeev was toasted by his peers as he went up to collect the Players8217; Player of the Year on Sunday night. Jeev, who won four titles around the world including the Barclays Singapore Open which made him the first player in Asian Tour history to surpass 1 million in a season.
He has also won a record 1.45 million from 11 tournaments that includes wins in Europe, Asia and Japan Tours which propelled him to a career high 35th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
8220;This is a very special moment,8221; Jeev said after receiving his awards. 8220;The Asian Tour means a lot to me as this was where I started from. All credit to the Tour as it helped build my confidence and I am truly honoured that the players voted for me for the Player of the Year award,8221; said Jeev, who won the Order of Merit crown for the second time in three seasons.
Jeev thanked his wife Kudrat and swing coach Amritinder Singh for helping him become a world-class player.
