8220;We have now come to a stage where to remain competitive, the mantra is innovation,8221; said Satish Kumar Kaura, chairman and managing director, Samtel Colour Ltd, who was the chief guest for the convocation held at the Punjab Engineering College PEC on Saturday. Jarnail Singh, secretary, Border Management, MHA Government of India was the guest of honour.

Kaura congratulated the 323 students who were conferred with their respective degrees. He emphasised that there is enough talent in the country and if students have the will and commitment, they can take on any challenge.

The Training and Placement Cell of the college shared its achievements where they stated that in the year 2008-09, a total of 66 companies had visited the campus.

While addressing the graduates, chairman of the Board of Governors of PEC Deemed University Chandra Mohan said 8220;Two decades of grooming by your parents and teachers is all a preparation to enable you to soar into the blue skies of the world on your own. No sacrifice is too great. No roadblock can hold you. Working for it gives you endless satisfaction.8221; Professor Manoj Datta, director, PEC, expressed his gratitude towards the Chandigarh Administration for adopting a positive approach in tackling the problems of the college.

He also acknowledged the faith shown by industries in the students of the college.
