
CHANDIGARH, July 9: Parveen Duggal posted his second win in the semifinal league stage by defeating Kamal Kant 4-3 in the first Vishnu Pal Singh Memorial prize money Open Snooker tournament played at Billiards Coaching Centre, Sector 22 today. Kamal Kant lost all his league matches and is out of reckoning. However, Parveen with today8217;s win has five points to his credit.
Kamal Kant set up a scorching pace and with an attacking game went on to win the first two frames 60-26, 96-15. He, however, faced a tough resistance from Parveen in the third, losing by 29 points 41-70. He then bounced back in the fourth to post a 65-37 win. Thereafter, he missed easy potting and faltered at crucial junctures.
Taking advantage of the situation, Parveen pulled up his sleeves and went on to win the next three frames 63-37, 61-32, 51-47 and the contest to keep alive his hopes of winning the title.
Parveen will play his last league match against Sandeep Duggal, who has three points from one match.
