
VADODARA, May 13: Parents of students of reputed city-based schools have formed an association to raise the grievances of their wards who have scored marks far below their expectations in the H.Sc examinations, despite some of them having topped the preliminary examinations.
The association, known as the Vadodara Vali Mandal, comprises of parents of as many as 11 city-based schools. Their first demonstration of dissatisfaction came in the form of a memorandum to the District Collector Anil Mukim and District Education Officer, V Nanavati, on Thursday after a rally and some slogan shouting.
The secretary of the Mandal, Bharatsinh Thakore, said, 8220;We have surveyed several schools and have enough evidence to claim that the careers of the students have been affected by the assessment of a few teachers appointed by the Gujarat Secondary Education Board.8221;
Thakore added that they had examples of at least 22 students from various reputed schools who had scored 90 per cent even in their preliminary examinations but scored 70 per cent in the finals.
