
MUMBAI, MARCH 20: Big knocks by Sandesh Paralkar and Manish Bangera put MIG in a commanding position against Shivaji Park Youngsters, in their semi-final clash of the Comrade Shield cricket tournament at the MIG cricket ground, today. The two were responsible in MIG scoring 199 for 1 from 44 overs.
The two batsman contributed handsomely. While Paralkar showed aggression in his knock of 64 which contained nine hits to the fence, Bangera (67: 4 x 4) displayed a more cautious approach. Another player who made a valuable contribution to the MIG total was Amit Velaskar who stayed unbeaten on 44 (4 x 4). In the second semis, Sameer Apte played an explosive innings in National CC’s knock of 136 for 7 from 46 overs against Shivaji Park Gym.

Trailing by 30points, “Tornado Fats” Arvind Savur (60), dazzled when he came up with a quickfire break of 66 to beat Alban Monteiro (8) 67-30 in the second-round of the AR Dias Open Break billiards tournament, sponsored by ATM Shipping, at the Catholic Gymkhana, today.

Ravi Passi shines
Two penalty-corner conversions by Ravi Passi, were the hallmark of Central Railway Mumbai Division’s (CRMD) 4-1 victory over Nobody SC in the Punjab National Bank-sponsored BHA Senior Division hockey league at the Khalsa College ground, Matunga, today.
Mohammed Rizwan and Javed were the goalgetters for CRMD. While Christopher D’Sa reduced the margin for Nobody.
