
GURGAON, January 10: A car-snatching attempt was foiled today on the national highway when two armed youths who tried to take away the vehicle at gunpoint lost out in a scuffle with the owner.
According to the police, Ramesh of Rajokari who is working as a laboratory technician with the AIIMS was on his way home from DLF when the armed youths stopped his car on a kutcha road and got into it forcibly. The youngsters robbed Ramesh of Rs 3,000 cash, wrist watch and driving license. One of them took control at the steering wheel, pushing Ramesh aside.
But as they moved towards Gurgaon on the national highway, Ramesh raised an alarm which was followed by a scuffle between them. The armed youths driving the car lost control of the vehicle in the process and it overturned leading to a jam on the highway.
However, one of them, Ashok of Dulana in Uttar Pradesh managed to run away while the other, Rohtash of Naithari was injured in the accident, and nabbed by the police. The owner of the car escaped unhurt.
