Go West
The Bible for shubh mahurats, Kalnirnay, now gets an American accent. Its publisher, Sumangal Press, has launched an English edition — to meet the needs of the Indian community — in the USA. Reworked to suit the sunrise in the US — eastern, central and western — the Kalnirnay almanac’s foreign edition is based on the longitude and latitude of different parts of the US. Published in eight different languages in India, Kalnirnay focuses on the diverse aspects of life — from health to food to utility information to agriculture et al.

If you are desperately seeking advice and cannot wait till you get your hands on your guidebook to good times — when to marry, when to buy a new house, when to name your child, when to start a new business and even when to start thinking about planning a child — then log on to: kalnirnay.com. Otherwise, buy the book and thumb through the pages till they get dog-eared. In these dangerous times why leave anything to luck. It is, after all, safer to consult the stars.

Available at Sumangal Press, MMGS Bldg, Dadar. Ph No: 413 4884 / 5051 / 4151.

Not only do they stock a wide range of perfumes from Fendi to Ferrari, they also stock beauty products. This two month-old store houses a Clarins beauty studio where you can get a facial guaranteed to make you feel like a whole new person. Or if you want a do-it-yourself pick-me-up, then pick any one of the beauty products on offer from Clarins, the leading France beauty company. By the way, this is the first time Clarins has introduced its products to India — before this, chances are that even your smuggler could not get his hands on the stuff for you. So, for the sake of the real thing, just do it!

Sale shop
This weekend if you have money to blow then Shopper’s Stop is the place to be at — as of today they are having a big sale. In fact, this is their first sale which is why they are offering as much as 30 per cent off on selected merchandise. That’s not all — the store will also be giving away surprise gifts to lucky customers. Frankly, this one sounds like a real bargain experience because the mall has everything from ready-to-wear stuff to cosmetics. We guess this is why the store is calling the entire discount experience a "Surprise Sale". The slashed prices are a real treat!
