February 24: If hosts Maharashtra had let Orissa off the hooks on the first day, they slipped off a good platform on the second day of the four day Super League Ranji Trophy, at the Poona Club here today.

After being 206 for two at one stage, Maharashtra succumbed to some accurate bowling to finish the day at 277 for six when stumps were drawn, just 32 runs ahead of the visitors.

Nightwatchman Iqbal Siddiqui scored his maiden hundred in the championship with determination, which propelled Maharashtra to surge ahead of the rivals first innings for the vital five points that were at stake.
